On behalf of the Carol Shields Literary Trust, welcome. With this web site, we hope to encourage you to read the wonderful books that are Carol Shields' legacy. They are as engaging and relevant today as the day she wrote them. We hope that those of you who have enjoyed Carol's books in the past will take another look at her work and discover some gems that you may have missed or re-read an old favourite. July 16, 2013, will be the 10th anniversary of Carol's death. From among Carol's 10 novels, 4 books of short stories, 3 books of poetry, and 8 plays, one or more passages must have made you stop and say to yourself: "I must remember that." All submissions will be read, and our favourite three submissions will be published in an In Memoriam in The Globe & Mail on July 16, 2013.
